Storyboards!

I numbered the frames in order of what will happen first in case anyone is confused about the order of them since I have larger and smaller images. I'm not going to have an example of concept art until I begin shooting unfortunately but it will come!

Commercial Ideas

Idea 1- My favorite idea, which may be the hardest to accomplish, is a stop motion commercial. I would like to show a person getting kidnapped (happily),  and ending up somewhere like a beach. I'm a film major and have always wanted to try to make a stop motion video so I would like to take advantage of this chance to make something comedic.

Idea 2- Overall same storyline as the first idea just drawn out and animated. This could possibly be easier in that I won't have to worry about taking the time to take the pictures and then attempt to piece them together.

Idea 3 and 4 - Similar to the first 2, one version would be stop motion, the other animated. I was thinking of showing a series of shots or drawings of people looking miserable or stressed out at work while having someone narrate something along the lines of "have you ever felt...." and then provide SSI as a solution but not exactly show the kidnapping.

Questionaire

1) What is your business?
We kidnap people who want to be kidnapped.

2) Describe your business in one sentence
We make it possible for people to enjoy longer vacations and avoid responsibilities.

3) Who is your target audience?
Men and women, not really younger than 25.

4) Who are your competitors?
We are a one of a kind business, there is no one quite like us.

5) What makes them better/worse than your product/service?
      N/A.

6) Do you currently have an identity? (This is more for companies that are already established and you’re just revamping the logo/corporate identity. If you have a new company or product, skip this question.)

7) (If your answer to #6 is no, skip this question) What do you like about it and what don’t you like about it?

8) How do you want your image to be seen in two years?
In two years, ideally we will not be seen in a negative light. Because of what the company does, it may be better to not be too well known and keep activity to a local area. We would like people to pretend to not take us seriously or pretend to not like us but in reality be excited about the job we do. We extend your vacation.

9) If your company was an animal, what animal would it be and why?
To be specific: the pink panther, with a ski mask, because we are damn sneaky.

10) If your company/brand was a person, who would it be and why?
Frank Abagnale Jr. - From wikipedia: "...is an American security consultant known for his history as a former confidence trickster, check forger, impostor, and escape artist. He became notorious in the 1960s for passing $2.5 million worth of meticulously forged checks across 26 countries over the course of five years, beginning when he was 16 years old. In the process, he became one of the most famous impostors ever, claiming to have assumed no fewer than eight separate identities as an airline pilot, a doctor, a U.S. Bureau of Prisons agent, and a lawyer. He escaped from police custody twice (once from a taxiing airliner and once from a U.S. federal penitentiary), before he was 21 years old. He served fewer than five years in prison before starting to work for the federal government."

We want to be incredibly talented in all the wrong ways.

11) If your company/brand was an object, what would it be?
j    Considering what the company does, there is not really an object that would adequately represent it well.

12) If your customer was a cartoon character, who would it be?
The pink panther, wearing a ski mask, haha.

The Hives - Won't Be Long

Got me a ticket and I won't be long 'cause I can't go on and I gotta get goin' away
So I make my way through the quagmire
Of boomers glorifying their youth
And all the peacocks in this city
So if I may be excused....

Aesthetic Choices: For this collage, I decided I would want it to look like a crowded city and after finding this picture with the taxis I decided I'd have it look as though they had stopped for the peacocks. The picture of the hang glider was more difficult to find but after some searching I found one that seemed to fit in with the colors and lighting of the city.

Rehab

Got the idea for my caligramme while listening to Rehab by Amy Winehouse. I made the shape of a bottle out of the song lyrics. Parts of the bottle seem a little off but you get the overall idea. :]

Logos

I've always appreciated the Journeys logo. Considering that it is a shoe store and the logo's design incorporates the idea of a compass, I feel the logo is meant to make you visualize where those shoes will take you. I feel the logo is designed for men and women ranging between their teens and early thirties. The logo definitely has some fun aspects to it, attracting that younger customer base.

I currently work full time at Best Buy in the computer department where geek squad plays a large role. What is amusing about geek squad is the interesting mix of the seriousness necessary to do the job well and the eagerness to be seen as a quirky work force. The logo itself is simple and fun, poking fun at how knowledgeable the "agents" are expected to be. I also feel the logo was not made with only one kind of customer in mind, but was made to attract the attention of any age group.

The Xbox logo! A well thought out design in my opinion. The choice of the green color is due to the fact that the consoles usually have green details and the dashboard when playing is usually also a bright green color. The X is obviously in representation of "xbox". Mostly geared towards men, the logo is easily recognizable due to it's extensive use.

The original iTunes logo was wonderfully put together. A music note and a cd for a program that gives you control over the music you own and gives you access to a wide library of music that can be purchased. The icon was made simple to understand and to assume that it was for a music related program.

The starbucks logo is an example of a logo that has been used for such a long time that virtually everyone realizes what it is without any text around it saying starbucks. No one pays much mind to the deeper meaning of the logo but for the most part everyone can recognize it. I don't feel the logo is meant for any specific sex.
